My name is Jacob Romo. Many of you might have come to this site because you know me and want to see how I am recovering. Others might have seen my video testimony or heard about my experience as a US Marine serving in Afghanistan. Whatever the case may be, I’m glad you have found this site… because I have a story to tell.

On February 11, 2011, while patrolling through the Sangin Valley in Helmand Province, Afghanistan, I stepped on a pressure triggered IED (Improvised Explosive Device) and lost both my legs.  I have recounted this experience in my testimony and explained what it is that “keeps me going.”  I walk by faith.

After writing my testimony and publishing it on Facebook, I immediately began receiving the most encouraging feedback from you!  A video of my testimony was produced and it quickly circulated all over the internet.  People everywhere were hearing of my faith in Christ which pulled me through in the days following the explosion and keeps me carrying on each day.

Please take time to read my testimony and watch the video explaining the experience.  Then please hear my concern for the children of Afghanistan and learn how we can help.

I’ll be posting on this blog regularly.  I’d love to hear from you.  Keep in touch.
